Throttle cable trouble
ricardo1967:
Thank you Luke and Bruce for the expert information.
digster:
Thanks for the good info guys. Frank Parks was telling me about a cable he stocks. Not really woven and not really morse and very flexible. Probably the same brand.
Do you have pictures for "what works" for pedal pull. I see some pull off the top of the pedal then loop beside your leg to the lower chassis tube then foreword to the front of engine and up to injector.
Others hinge the pedal up a few inches and pull off the bottom of the pedal.
dreracecar:
You can still use the same cable mount on the injector shown, just get a longer cable to loop forward to the mounted peddle you already have (if the peddle is in a good location for you already) and use a cable clamp to hold the housing to the frame. A quick disc should not be used because they can be hard to mount without having sharps into your leg
rooman:
I missed this discussion yesterday but Bruce is totally correct. The pro teams all use the Control Cables unit in both push and pull applications for throttle, fuel shut off, hi-lo and shifter (reverser). I have been using them for 20 plus years and have never had a problem.
There is only one cable that may be marginally better and that is the one used by the Indy car guys and it runs about double the price.

Thank you all.
So I hear no disadvantages to push the cable to open the throttle? (when using Control Cables)
