Fuel primer location
grdra1:
Where would be the best place to locate the fuel primer line for my engine. I can install in the Crower barrel valve or the port injection fuel block, I could also fabricate a small bracket and spray into the top of the injector. What have others done or recommend. Glen

I have mine tapped right into the port block.
Something that I noticed...and it may be there... put a solenoid of some type between pump and engine to shut the fuel flow off when not being used. At high rpm, the engine will pull fuel past the pulse pump into the engine. I have a small nitrous solenoid on mine.

Do tou have the primer tank clamped to the outside og the chassis? Looks that way in the picture.
I removed te two plugs from the side of the primer tank and two -8 fittings screwed right in, I removed the straight 1/8 NPT to -4 fitting out of the bottom and installed a 1/8 NPT 90 -4 fitting on the bottom. On the -8 fitting I installed a -8 coupler.
I plumbed my tank into the return line to the tank so that it is always full after the first start of the day. The pump in this picture was replaced with a larger one as this one was not up to the task
I plumbed the primer line into the top of the distribution block. This is a test to see if it worked.

If you are using a blower starter, Why are you doing this???? The person running the starter also controls the primer "BOTTLE". Cost .00, no wires, no battery, no weight , no extra tank of gas and always works and can always borrow one if you left it back at the trailer.

I did it for independence, also when slowing at the top end of the track fuel runs to the front of the tank, If I need to restart to get off the track I can. It has come in handy many times. I would not be without it.
