Chute Mount
« on: March 08, 2016, 11:13:45 AM »
My old chute is kind of like its owner, tattered from being deployed too many times!
Tech has never hassled me but I doubt if the mounting is legal. The aluminum plate on the dragster side had been relieved and a small hole cut in the bag. This allows the chute main lanyard to go straight threw the pack to a half inch bolt. The main lanyard  all coils up first. Never hanging down. It's positioned in such a way that it can touch nothing metallic when deployed.  It was mounted this way when I bought it and has never failed me. Ever seen this before? Has a clean look but it's the only one I know of this way so its gotta be wrong.

No spec on mounting the pack and going thru the center of the pack is/was common when using a chute tail body. Look at pics of cars with tails on them and no exposed tow lines
