ISP products or roll cage padding

(1/2) > >>

MikenMpls:
Looking for input on this one. I am almost done re-assembling my car and I have waited until now to decide about which product to use.
Do I use the ISP roll cage protection or do I just use the simple roll cage padding and zip ties? I really do not like the look of the simple padding but it's light and easy to remove and install. The ISP stuff is trick and much slicker looking on the car but has its drawbacks (visibility and cost).  I realize the safety properties of both are not equal but are both adequate?
Help me make this call guys!

retroboy:
The stick on stuff is absolute crap. Won't bend, splits and takes up a heap of space.  People will tell ya that it just needs a bit of heat to form it up - they're dreamin'. I have it but the best place for it is the bin.
Cheers
Tony

MikenMpls:
Thanks Tony! still have not made up my mind. I have a few weeks before the local track opens...

Oldschool:
May be different types, but I have good stick on with a few ties and work great. ISP is good stuff but exspensive. If you have the money go for it if not go with the other. I have used the stick on in Sprint Car,Late Model and modified dirt cars with no problem. There is good stuff out there and there is crap.
I use Longacre and it forms great and looks great . Check it out Motorsports of KC in Kansas City ,KS

MikenMpls:
I will order some longacre and see how it works.  I want the ISP but the cost and visibility restriction are big drawbacks. I realize the fastest cars use the ISP stuff but at this age i want to enjoy the view while I can.
