What thickness alum for dragster deflector

what thickness alum do you use for dragster deflector for driver?

or do you use Lexan?

If you mean a windshield style deal .040 will work in aluminum and .125 in Lexan if you want to look through it.

I use 3/32 lexan because its an easier bend and a cross hair lazer on a level tripod to get the top flat

I am so grateful for being part of this selected community and having experienced advisors sharing their skills so willingly.

I got started building a FED almost twenty years ago (defunct project), access to quality information was very scarce those days.

I agree I built my first chassis for our FED in 95 and info was very limited. When I built our second car in 2005 more information on the net and now you can get almost any information you need

Just keep the same amount of stuff on the right
as there is on the left. Seeing straight ahead is highly overrated....

Finally Finished it

thanks to American Racecraft for use of some bitchen tools !! Bead Roller and other neat tools
Ended up making it in 3 pieces using offset rollers and such.

personaly perfer plastic with more angle because it will deflect when hit, with that being thin rigid alu and straight up, it could become a razor blade if you hit it with your hand or arm. Make sure the arm restraints are tight

I've wire edged my cowl screen for that very reason Bruce.
