Gateway update

We struggled.

First time up, engine went lean, found out later the idle popet stuck open, water out of expansion tank. went sideways on the launch (water under right tire, ALMOST hit the wall, really VERY close, people keep coming up and telling me I was really close)).

Missed the second round looking for the problem. Stuck idle popet, went from a 2 pound spring to a 4 1/2 pound, seemed to solve the problem.

Third round at top end would not idle down again.

Thought we done for the weekend.

Sitting in the chair looking at the dragster, noticed the butterflies were to open.

Found that when we put the "K" valve back together, I did not wire tie the primer hose, and with the throttle wide open it got wedged between the linkage to the injector.

Rush to get ready for the first round, make it.

The guy in front of me struggled to stage, finial shut the engine down.

Now I have heat in the engine.

Know this, get past my opponent and step off way before the finish, still ran too fast BY A TENTH and a half (7.879).

Oh well that is the way it goes.

Sad news to report, on our return trip home, we got tied up in a traffic jam.

When we got to the cause, on the side of the road was a burned out stacker trailer.

Motor Home separated from the trailer. Motor home undamaged.

Rear top and inside of the trailer destroyed by fire.

Yes, one of our members, believe it to be Derek McCustions.

The input I have received is they believe the golf cart started on fire.

Troy has set up a go fund me page.
