Insurance on Car and parts
husker-rat:
Had my garage was broken into and most of my parts stolen. My State Farm Homeowners policy refused to pay anything because my altered >:( >:( is not a licensed street vehicle. Who are you guys using?
dreracecar:
If something of value is not listed on the policy (rider) it was never there. They would have covered it if it was and you payed the extra premium and had photo evadence to back up. Basicly any policy with a declared value rider would have covered it. There are some indedendant companys that offer travel insurance to and from races, but not the racing itself unless a big preimum rider is attached. Lets say you have a car thats worth $200k and you could up 10% $2000 per race to protech yourself in case of total loss, would you do it?
ricardo1967:
I'm sorry for your loss. I had an uninsured and well souped up car (and tools in the truck) stolen in 1994 and I feel your pain. Lots of sweat, blood and coins lost there.
This a great topic. It does happen guys. I've been meaning to contact Audrey Worm (Hagerty insurance) for a while to request a quote:

this was subject of thread on dragrace results a week ago. They had few post with names of companys that write policy on race cars.
GlennLever:
I have Hagerty, everything is covered until I enter the gates of a track. At the New England HRR I talked with this guy and but haven't followed up with him. He covers the vehicle at the track.
This is not an endorsement as I have not done the research yet

Broad Coverage
policy starts by insuring your race car, and you can also cover your trailer and contents, along with tools and spare parts. With few exclusions, the policy provides coverage:
At NHRA and IHRA member race tracks
In transit, or at a hotel or restaurant
At your storage location (even if not at home)
At car shows, and other displays
All year round, even when disassembled!
Coverage is not provided when the car is going down the race track under power, but coverage is provided in the pits, staging lanes, and on the return road.
