I posted a reply on that thread, and yes I'm sure they are talking about a glide. 3 speeds like 400 turbos, and 727's are not safe to put into netural. And if they are reverse pattern you have to go thru 2nd and 1st to get there, just not a good idea.

I would think the trans would kill it self 'coz the pump isn't running if you shut tge engine down.

Most guys don't shut the engine down, they just want to unload it so it can idle, but yes shutting the engine down will starve the trans of lube.
