Throttle stop

(1/1)

masracingtd1167:
I need to slow my car down a couple of tenths for some index racing and I was wondering if I could just adjust my throttle stop so my injectors don't open all the way . Any thought about this ? Bill

Bill,

IMO size of injector would have big effect on how well it would work. If yours has smaller butter flys like  I'm thinking it would work fine. Now if you had a D- ported bird like I do .I think it would be hard to dial in.

Doubting you have a high low valve body so you could eave in high using transbrake?Shift car off timer and do it right after the launch? This with partial open injector should slow you good amount.Oh yea leave the nitrous off.LOL

Paul New:
A couple tenth I would short shift maybe take 4 degrees of timing out

At part throttle could there be a chance of a lean condition? Closing down butterflies would also close the barrel valve some. If the air didn't slow down as fast as the fuel I would think that could be a problem. A throttle plate of some kind might be better, then barrel valve isn't affected.
