George, what kind of rear-end broke ?

Jon

George:
8 3/4" 742. Blower torque and trans brake were too much for it. I was a nice setup when we ran the injected combo. George

--- Quote from: George on August 06, 2015, 02:54:21 AM ---I was trying to get an idea of what the fully prepped track would hold. Our local track puts a lot into track preparations and it give big results. Our injected 355 SBC ran 1.07-1.10 60'on alky. The 377 blower motor was running sub 1.0 60' but broke the rear end 2 x. it has been common to see racers run their best ever times at Central Illinois Dragway. George

Dont go by these 60' numbers because the car runs 30" of overhang which makes those numbers for 58'

My blown car @1650# and NO overhang leaving off the hand brake would be consistent  1.12 60'

 What size tire is that?

One thing you have to remember about this board is that most of us find the metric system quite confusing and weight and speed numbers dont relate to what we are use to seeing

New personal best two times this weekend!  8)
1/4 @ 9.17
then
1/4 @ 9.08  (60ft = 1.300, 1/8 = 5.76)

Tried to step ut up a little on the main pill from .070 to .075 after the 9.08 run, but it didnt make any noticable difference and i did two 9.3`s. Bad start on one, and shifted a little bit early on the other - my fault.
I ran without trans brake this time also, but im not getting any good starts (low rpm), so im going to wire it up before next race.
