Camshaft help and advice

(1/1)

Ponti:
Hi Matt,

Hope you or some of the others can help.  I'm looking for a cam for my engine build. Engine is a SBC 355ci, will be running a 6-71 supercharger' mechanical injection. Fuel will be Methanol. I'm thinking a roller cam would be a good idea to reduce the maintenance, not sure if that's right.

Paul New:
I have been running virtually the same camshaft in all my blown SBC's anywhere from .720 lift to .780 lift  288 & 292 duration @.050 and 114 degrees

George:
I run the Herbert Roller cam P/N CR 274 with good results. 309in-318 adv. dur. and .652-.643 valve lift. George

A roller cam is a good choice. The specs posted by the other guys is spot on. Spend good money on lifters and rocker arms.
Cheap lifters will fail and ruin everything else you worked hard to buy.
I suggest the Crower Hi-Po roller lifters.

Matt
