They are in series, so CCA remains 500 A.

Have an aluminum frame with handles for the battery box for standard 12V batteries, yes, heavy, slide it on the passenger side of the golf cart for starting line duty, set it next to car in the pits for warm-ups.

Van:
 I welded a angle iron frame to the bottom of a small hand truck, this receives a plastic milk crate with 3 car batteries 36 volt.  I welded up a cradle above that to hold the starter. tip it back and it rolls, we lift the crate out & put it in the truck to go to the line. We charge the battery's individually , no need to disconnect them. 36 volt charger is faster, I found one for my forklift on EBay.
