hotrodharley:
GOT MYSELF A USED RCD BLOWER STARTER TODAY;;SELLER SAID HE USED 36 VOLTS ON IT;;WHAT IS EVERYONE USING FOR THERE BATTERYS?NOT FINDING ANY USED BATTERY PACKS AND ALL NEW ONES ARE 48 VOLT;;CAN I USE 48 VOLT BATT PACK IF I COME ACROSS A USED ONE?IF CAN'T FIND USED ONE AND HAVE TO GO WITH BIGGER AND HEAVIER CAR TYPE BATTERYS THEN WHAT ONES RECOMEND AS TO SIZE[CRANKING AMPS]AND WHAT TYPE?

ricardo1967:
Hayden Wheels (Jon Hansen - helpful member here) sells a 24V battery pack, 10 lb only. Perhaps they can add a third battery?

Now I'm curious, how are you planning to charge them?

hotrodharley:
haven't got that fare yet;;if I end up using car batterys then just unhook and charge each batt separate with my shop charger;;if go with batt pack then i'd need to get a 36 volt or 48 volt charger for maybe whants used on a electric golf cart

JrFuel Hayden:
HotRod HD, yes I make/ sell a light weight [ 10 lbs] 24 volt remote battery pak, $750 complete with cables and connectors, that we have been using on our JrFuel dragster for 3 years.
I've been thinking of expanding to a 48 volt system for blower racers. I plan on having it at the March Meet.
We have been using a 24 volt charger on ours , and I found a 48 volt charger. The Hayden 48 volt battery Pak should come out weighing about 20 lbs. I'll also look into making a 36 volt set-up, but I've had more calls for 48 volt.

just got myself a RCD blower starter;;can't afford a RCD battery pack at this time ;IF I go with full size batterys then what type [deep cycle marine/rv or lead acid std or ???] and then how much Cranking amps do they need to be?they got to be mounted on back of golf cart so tight for space so there again person got starter from said he only used 36 volts and it started his car fine but would there be a big difference if I had the room to go to 48 volts?another thing;;if you have 4 12 volt batterys that is 500 cranking amps each and you hook them up so to get 48 volts then does that make them 2000 cranking amps then?
