Intake manifold installation + return
« on: February 11, 2015, 04:25:17 AM »
Should i use gaskets between heads and intake manifold, or just some kind of silicone? I was sure i read something about it somewhere, but cant find it anymore..
Its a Hilborn injection manifold on a sbc.

And for the fuel return - do i need to use an external/electric pump for it? It seems like it have been used in my car before.

Must use gaskets--measure port window and then select --bet Felpro #1205 or next size up
I am guessing that pump was for priming to start engine
I have always had a fascination with fast cars at the expense of more normal character development

Thanks Dave. I`ll bring the intake to my local speedshop this weekend and see if they have anything that fits.
Makes sense that the pump is there for priming. But do i really need it?

Only need for an onboard primer is if you are running the car all by yourself or that you just like to spend money. Primarly it was for drag boats waiting at the rope for there turn to run
