Only if you are using a power adder like Jack Daniels!

Paul New:
when you say running on Budweiser are you saying it is running on alcohol or unleaded gas? unleaded gas yes on hard seats.

At my engine shop we will see old iron heads that have been run on leaded race gas that STILL will have exh seats beat out--It is usually on the center pairs where heat is higher etc  Thing is we feel like it has lots to do with the cast iron--some are crappy and some are hard as can be and run year after year no effect what so ever--These days by the time you replace seats, guides etc you could have had new aluminums for a few $$ more--Now if you want to stay Old School Looking and use old iron I say run them like they are and they will probably be AOK but don't be surprised if they do erode/sink/get beat up
Kind of a crapshoot from all that we see
I have seen an old small block budget build no hardened seats in a pick up that tows a little --eat the exh seats out in a year so bad you would not believe it
Have seen old Mopar Max Wedge iron heads made in 1964 that have been raced since then and still look beautiful
Race On a budget forget it and run-- just don't be surprised in a couple of years
Got $?--do the seats next time you need new guides and forget about it
Street?? Do it
( just my 2 cents worth but I see a LOT of heads every week)
