Where do you mount nozzles for fire system

Was wondering what way to go on a fire system and where to mount the nozzles for a fed. What do you guys recommend , This is for a sbc bracket fed on gas but hope to be going to alcohol injected some day. Do you mount the spray nozzles by your feet and tranny or in front of the motor so it blows back on the engine? Should I use Halon? Thanks :D Merry Christmas to all

Good question good topic
I do not think Halon is still SFI approved?? Not sure--I have many tell me it is Great at doing the job though--expensive refills too maybe?
With one bottle system 5 lb or 10 lb ?

Supercat:
We use 2   10lb DJ cold bottles. Two separate fire systems.
Primary system 2 nozzles at front of engine 1 each side, plus a 3rd nozzle at my feet.
Secondary system stays safety pinned at the dash for use if needed. Pull the pin and push the plunger, sets off 1 nozzle aimed higher on the engine(will enter the hat some if butterflies are open), 1 at the front of the fuel and oil tanks and 1 last nozzle under the steering box aimed at my belt ;)
Make sure you use the steel lines or go through a conduit of some form where you pass the engine and trans/clutch areas.

Thanks for the input.

prior to the 20lb rule I was running a single 5lb bottle on my FED blown alky (2) nozzles in front of the engine and (2) nozzles near my feet. I would think in your car a single 5lb bottle would be plenty unless you aspirations of going blown then I would buy a single 10lb bottle and upgrade to a second 10lb bottle at that time. Well now that I am typing and reading I think I would buy a single 10lb that way you would not have to upgrade from a 5lb bottle.......
