Kinsler nozzles
« on: December 09, 2014, 06:37:17 PM »
Going thru the boxes of parts that came with the new engine and found these....engine has a Kinsler 3 piece with the nozzles in the ports. There are plugs under the runners that are plugged off and a set of nozzles, spare distribution block and hoses for that....

What is the purpose of the tips?

Those are called "Pencil tip" nozzles. Hilborn has a version of these as well that they sell with the rotary injectors. Those look home made to me...unless someone decided to add to the solder.

The theory here is that a straight, small stream of fuel displaces less air in the runner. The stream is carefully aimed at the back of the intake valve and it breaks up down there. It's supposed to work well I guess...kind of like down nozzles, but from above. I've never played with them.
