Slick goes flat
retroboy:
I have M/T slicks with no tubes. One goes flat in about 2 days. It is currently off the wheel so I can get a small adjustment made to the backspace. Short of fitting tubes any thing I can do to the slick while it's off to stop or slow this?
masracingtd1167:
Coat the inside of tire with dishwashing liquid let it dry and re mount tire it should help a lot .
dreracecar:
Only guarented to hold air for the duration of the race

I coat mine when they are brand new and it helps a lot . I was worried about it at one time so I called Goodyear to ask it meant that the side wall was bad because thats where they leak . He told me about the soap trick and also said that's when they really get fast !

Ive never tried soaping a used tire...Not sure if it will go or not. When new, We take a large bottle of Dawn and put 1/2 in each tire and rub it in till its gone. The Fiat is on the stands in the shop since September and have just started to go flat. Through the summer, Might have to add a pound or two between races.
