sidewall stiffness for FED's

While reading thread on frontend design I noticed Jon had good amount of info about sidewall stiffness.
My question is do Fed's generally like more stiffness than RED style cars.Asking becuase Buddy with M/T recommended their 3074S over 3074 tire.Said  he had them installed on some FED's and the stiffer sidewall worked a lot better. Now he works for tire company and gets good input. You fella's have worked with real world results and tuning. Some have a lot of experiance with these types cars and I always like to get input from the guys making it work. Also hate buying extra's parts just to find out they don't work and I get to sale them for 20 cent on the dollar.

You'd need to find out what FED's he's putting those tires on and getting feedback from. Might be a whole different set up than what most guys run. Clutch cars? Converter cars for classes like A/ND where guys might have several different converters to choose from?

I'd probably go with the softer sidewall tires unless you notice lots of people with very similar set ups running stiffer tires and running well. Then I might try to borrow a set to try first.

Similar setups is a issue. Most feds are either sbc Jr fuel style or blown. Mine is injected 526 aluminum Hemi.Nothing super stout, should be around 1050 to 1100 hp plus small 350 shot for occasional use. It is 50"out which should help some.  Battery, fuel tank and 2 5lb fire bottles at very front. Also a slipjoint setup, actually setup for slip joints in multiple ways. All of which can be locked down solid.

Just looking for as much input as I can gather before buying.

Chris I have been seeing a lot of those tires on a lot of the RED top dragsters but they are much different than what we are running . Those cars are heavy 1900+ pounds Huge high tourqe motors . I just think you need that soft sidewall at the hit to plant the tire .

Bill 3074S on top dragsters?
Asking because they are 14 wide. Most of the RED's  running M/T's that I have been reading DRR on are running 16 wide.As for torque I should be in good shape with the 4.5 crank, understanding Im running tiny 4.310 pistons. Then heads do flow in 520's int and 420's exhaust which is equal or very close to some of best BBC heads. Not doubting input just verifing same tire or similar design sidewall except wider.Maybe overthinking advance setup also.like thats never happened before.

My thoughts are/where the same .At same time thinking about FED's need to get up on tire and avoid shake issues with more rear weight(% wise). I did notice guy at M/T did not take me up on money back guarantee if they did not work great.LMAO

Maybe I can luck into a used set for testing.
