Best type of Gasket/formagasket/Silicone/liquid gasket
Sidewinder:
Hello Guys:)
What is the best type/brand of Silicon/liquid gasket?
I have tried a couple, PM and Wurth RTV. The PM are desolving when exposed to methanol and Oil mix. The RTV seals, but the parts are hard to take appart( to much glue).

We have used Permatex ultra grey with good results. For the last several years we have used Permatex The Right Stuff (black) with great results concerning oil, alky and nitro mix. We used it on modern top fuel in the 4 corners of the block-heads to seal the intake-blower manifold. I use it now to hold just about all my gaskets in place. Oil pan gasket is a favorite place for me also. On my small block it is the only thing I use for the intake end seals. I like the pressurized can version.

Have been using Permatex for 30 plus years.Heck Im still working on small truck load they sent us in 94.Never had problem.

I use RightStuff. I'm convinced after allowing it to cure, intake bolts are no longer required. It is amazing stuff. I deal with the crazy adhesion to know it won't leak.

I'm a fan of Permatex Right Stuff too, but I refrain from using it everywhere. Once cured, it's a bitch to get it apart later.
