Wasn't Santos quicker than Hall? But I do know that Jack Frost with his blown alky SBC with a screw ran 6 teens he really wanted a 5 second pass out of his altered but never got it, this was all used Santos parts. My SBC has gone 6.66 at 213 in my FED. But yes Parks is FAST with his injected alky SBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dale went a 6.52 with his but that was back in 1979!!

coupemerc:
I remember seeing Dale run some 6.20s with a Blown Alky SBC in a FED back around 1988-1989 at Maple Grove. Dale had a blower on top of a tunnel ram and the longest blower belt that I had ever seen. The car would slightly shred the blower belt on each pass (he had only one belt) and he would clean up the belt by narrowing it after each run. Dale made it all the way to the finals and came to the line with a belt that was about 1 inch wide. Unfortunately the belt gave up in the final. Everyone in the crowd was loosing their mind watching the little Chevy beat all the Hemi cars. I'd love to hear Scott tell the story.
For unblown...both Scott Parks and Brian Darcy have gone 6.76 in A/ND trim. Engines are in the 380-385 CI range. In$ane!

Bruce,
For the same air flow, a 6-71 needs to spin faster than a 8-71. So perhaps the HP demand may not be necessarily higher with the 8-71. I'd also think that the charge temperature out of a 6-71 (spinning faster) is hotter than a 8-71 spinning slower, so even with the same boost level, the 8-71 would deliver a denser change.

Does it make sense to you?
