This is my first time using alcohol. i have used racing gas for many years in door slammers. I feel like i am starting all over with alcohol.
Thanks for the feedback!

Last season I went from gas to alcohol with a Carb. learned all season. This would be a great topic for Spud Miller's Cave under the Technical category

Brian Alky is not as hard as people make it to be lotsa myths about it ??? I have ran both with good luck but like alky better but questions about alky is the same as asking who builds the best convertor! Good luck!

I agree.
Your jets are a LOT bigger, Temps are cooler, You use a lot more fuel, but it is a lot else expensive.
The one thing you do not want to do is to run it lean.
Learn to read you plugs. Reading plugs with alcohol is different from reading with gas. Here is a link to get you started http://www.wallaceracing.com/plug-reading-lm.html
Also you want to run a top end lube, and watch your oil for contamination.

Another myth about Alky is you need high compression that is FAR from the truth I know cause I put my almost stock 302 with maybe 8to1 ratio on alky 650 carb and it came to life :o It makes more torque and thats why it picked up mine by 4 tenth's ???

302DZ........ now I completely understand, that's '69 Z28 block (good foundation). I had asked the 283-327 question as I have a pre '62 283 built with 12.5:1.
