New tire recommendations for our FED
Supercat:
We need to get new tires in the next few weeks.
The car is a 200" Fed with about 1000hp and 800+ ft/lb. naturally aspirated,methanol.
Weight 1760-1780 with driver.
5200 stall PG 176 first gear
3.89 rear gear Ford 9"
wheels are 10.5x15" presently but we are thinking to go to 11.5"x15"
We have been using the Hoosier co9 compound 33x12x15 mounted on a 10.5 wheel, about 4 yrs old.
What are some recommendations from the group and why you like them...

If what you have works, why change? I have been running that combo(except Goodyears)for the last 18 years

going to have to change next time though probably since Goodyear discontinued most of there drag slick line, I know I am running my tires a year longer than normal since they did this

Supercat I would think that the 12x33 Hoosier should be just about right for your combo . There are not a lot of choices out there that will work on a FED . Good Year discontinued the 1288 12x33 tire and the 12x31's also . I put a set of the Hoosiers on mine last year and thought they were a pretty good tire . The only thing I did not like about them is that they shake badly at the end of a burnout !

Are Mickey Thompson (ET Drag series) good drag tires?

I have Mickey Thompson ET Drag 3068W 31.0/10.5-15W M5 on my FED, but I'm too much of a novice to say anything about them.
The thing I can say is that they don't leak! (yes, they're screwed)
